Veralda - a refined expression of Istrian terroir
Nestled among the rolling hills of northern Istria, between Buje and Brtonigla, Veralda Winery embodies a winemaking tradition rooted in the region since 1938.
Today, Veralda stands as a sophisticated family-owned estate, seamlessly blending heritage, modern oenology, and a deep commitment to sustainable, organic viticulture.
Each Veralda label is a curated expression of terroir – a refined interpretation of indigenous varieties, Malvasia Istriana and Refosco. The wines are defined by clarity, freshness, and precision, revealing a distinctive character shaped by the Istrian landscape, while maintaining a delicate balance between tradition and innovation.
As a pioneer of contemporary Istrian winemaking, Veralda continues to push boundaries – being among the first in the region to craft rosé and sparkling wines from Refosco. Their flagship wine, Xtrian, stands as a testament to excellence, awarded Platinum – Best in Show at the Decanter World Wine Awards.
Across 26 hectares of organically cultivated vineyards and within a state-of-the-art winery set among the vines, every stage of production is meticulously controlled – from vine to bottle – ensuring purity, authenticity, and uncompromising quality.
Beyond wine, Veralda produces extra virgin olive oil with protected designation of origin Istra and offers exclusive tasting experiences that transcend the ordinary, inviting guests into an immersive journey through wine, nature, and the spirit of the region.

Family filosophy
Our winery is focused on autochthonous varieties: Istrian Malvasia, Refosco and Teran, so that we could
express the uniqueness, nobility and tradition of the territory.
We are emotionally connected to these
varieties, but what makes them special is the fact that they are more resistant to disease than other
international varieties, which is an essential prerequisite for organic production.
We strive to produce
fresh wines, of surprising durability in taste, in order to provide complete enjoyment. With just a sip you
feel these intense emotions and unlike with other wines, you'll want to try our wines again.
The
character of our wines is not only expressed in the way they are produced, but it also comes from the
special terroir of the Buje hills. A terroir of excellence is captured in a long-lasting pleasure.

quality of our wines has been confirmed by a number of international medals and awards.
Veralda is
today a family-owned company that employs 15 full-time employees.
Our vision is to develop indigenous varieties through organic production and innovative approaches,
because in this way we can express the uniqueness, nobility and tradition of the territory, especially
when we know who we are and what we strive for.
Our mission is to put man first. It doesn't matter how much we know about wine, it matters what we
feel when we taste it. In that moment any other information becomes redundant.
Only the emotions
and pleasure that the wine gives us are important, so we are focused on the intensity of the taste to
ensure the longest enjoyment and evolution of pleasure.
Our contribution to the development of winemaking of Istria as a region and destination is the
sensational discovery of Rose by Teran. We produced the first Rose' in history obtained from 100%
Teran, an indigenous Istrian variety, which laid the foundations to the development of Istrian
winemaking.
A new twist in the style of innovation in production technology has improved the quality of the wines,
laying the foundations for a strong leap into the market for red and white and rose' wines.
We are
constantly investing in new know-how and always looking for new challenges in order to develop and
prosper.
